TRIPLE M RECORDS NATIONAL GROWTH AS SCA CONTINUES TO LEAD THE ‘AUDIENCE THAT MATTERS’

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) began 2025 by extending its dominance in the ‘Audience That Matters’, 25-54, marking 29 consecutive survey wins in this highly sought after demographic. With more than 9.162 million listeners tuning in weekly (P10+), SCA continues to reach and engage more Australians than any other commercial network.

The Triple M Network delivered a strong start to the year, retaining its title as the number one network for men 25-54 for 17 consecutive surveys. Triple M Adelaide’s Roo, Dittz & Loz continue to cement their dominance, recording 19 FM survey wins in a row in Breakfast. Triple M Melbourne’s Mick in the Morning posted the station’s biggest Breakfast cume audience since 2016, as Mick, Roo, Titus, and Rosie show their immediate connection with Melbourne listeners. With growth in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, and Brisbane (prior to the AFL and NRL seasons kicking off), Triple M is gearing up for its biggest year yet.

The Hit Network continues to connect with diverse audiences across the country, securing its 4th consecutive win as the number one network for women 25-54. B105’s Stav, Abby & Matt remain Brisbane’s number one Breakfast show, reinforcing B105’s status as Brisbane’s number one station. The Fox has reclaimed its title as Melbourne’s most listened-to station, reflecting a deep connection with audiences and its heritage status within the city.

With continued success across both the Hit and Triple M Networks, SCA remains Australia’s leading commercial audio network, positioned for sustained audience and revenue growth in 2025.

Dave Cameron, SCA Chief Content Officer, said: “Today marks a strong start to the ratings year from SCA’s Hit and Triple M stations nationally. It’s great to see share and cume increases in multiple cities, alongside our winning duopoly in Brisbane with continued stellar performance for B105 and Triple M.

“It’s a particularly outstanding performance from the Triple M Network today, with a huge debut for Mick in the Morning on Triple M Melbourne Breakfast achieving its best Breakfast timeslot result in six years. In Adelaide, Roo, Ditts & Loz have powered Triple M to the top with their 19th consecutive FM win. Meanwhile, Triple M Brisbane remains in second spot just behind the Hit Network’s B105, with Stav Abby & Matt continuing their winning run at Breakfast.

“The Fox has returned to the most listened to station in Melbourne, with another great local result from Fifi, Fev & Nick again proving that local relevant content from local presenters at breakfast time is what Melbourne demands.

“Triple M Sydney — through significant changes at breakfast time — has increased its audience by a remarkable 119,000 new listeners coming in to trial the station led by Beau Ryan and Aaron Woods in Breakfast. 2Day FM has also had the second-highest FM audience increase after Triple M, with 104,000 new listeners tuning in.

“To complete a great round for the network, Triple M Perth has also grown again at breakfast time, with its new show led by Xavier Ellis and Katie Lamb continuing to achieve the show’s highest results.”

Seb Rennie, SCAChief Commercial Officer, said, “SCA remains the leader in the all-important 25-54 demographic, proudly holding the title of Australia’s most-listened-to network, reaching more people than any other.

“With the combined strength of SCA and ACE metro stations, we command a 35.4% share of the metro Audience That Matters — delivering a commercial lead over the nearest competitor by 6.7 share points.  SCA committed to delivering innovative audio solutions that connect advertisers with the right audiences and drive real results across SCA’s broadcast and digital platforms.

“A huge congratulations to our content teams, whose exceptional work continues to fuel audience growth and engagement. We’re also excited to welcome new talent to our network, bringing fresh energy and innovative commercial solutions that help brands cut through and connect.”
